I live out in the country in the state of New Mexico where we have a small ranch. My husband and I are both nurses but I am retired. I now spend my time caring for the many animals that live here with us.

We have:
1 wolf-dog (Shanu)
1 wolf(Sedona)
1 wise "elder" greyhound now going on 17 years old (Twister)
3 cats (Bobcat, Tigger and Ladybug)
1 sweet horse (Should-A-Be)
peacocks
chickens

We live in a monolythic (concrete) dome home which is currently undergoing renovation but we are hoping to be able to move back in before Thanksgiving. We use solar energy to run the place and hope to add wind power to it soon. The electric lines don't come out here...LOL

Sometimes when we tell people we live "off the grid" they think we live in a hut and probably wonder if we even have indoor plumbing. Well, we do have indoor plumbing, a TV, a music system, a computer (obviously) and even a dishwasher It takes a little more work since we are our own repairman but other than that we are just as civilized as the city folks are.
